It's manipulative and denies the agency of the people spreading the hate. 'Antisemitism wouldn't be so prevalent if Netanyahu would stop killing Palestinians' or 'we wouldn't hate the gays if they weren't so in our face about it' are both hateful statements.

When a Jew wishes you a Merry Christmas, think of it like them wishing you a Happy Anniversary or Happy Birthday. It's a good wish to you, and to you alone.
Don't wish them a Merry Christmas back. If someone wishes you a Happy Birthday and you know it's not their birthday, you don't need to wish them a Happy Birthday back!
Don't mention Hanukkah. If someone wishes you and your spouse a Happy Anniversary, you don't need to say "Didn't you and your partner recently have an anniversary too?"
Wishing them Happy Holidays is OK, but unnecessary. If someone wishes you a Happy Birthday you don't need to say "I hope you have a good day too!"
Just say thank you!

Just returned from the annual Christmas Even Chinese buffet. I’m stuffed. There were a lot of people there, and I’m pretty sure none of them were Jewish. Is this another case of #CulturalAppropriation?
