Best technology move I made in 2023: moved off Microsoft Windows to Linux on the Desktop. Why did I not do this before?! You don't realize how much your OS is now designed to basically advertise and sell products to you, until you switch. (with zero loss of functionality... in my case, far better productivity and much better tools -- all free). #Linux
Second best technology move I made in 2023: installed pi.hole (ad blocker) and directed every machine I have to the blocker. Feel a lot better protected from the malvertising out there; downside, lots of media/news websites won't load with an ad blocker in place.
