I am reminded it is Banned Books Week.

Here's the truth: Someone in your neighborhood is trying to ban books, especially books with queer characters and non-white characters. The books they're trying to ban are primarily written for teen audience, or are written for adult audiences and have teen appeal. They want the books banned because you can intimidate a teenager or a young adult into not being their full selves. Books, by virtue of being inanimate, cannot be bullied into hiding.

THIS WAS PREVENTABLE! I felt unwell when I woke up Saturday. Instead of going to synagogue for #RoshHashanah, I tested for #COVID19. Positive.

Two weeks into the school year (where my daughter is one of a few who mask), and I attended two school board meetings as a trustee (where I was one of only two people masked).

Because others refused to listen to public health and #MaskUp, I now have to cancel 1-2 weeks of patients. (No, I will NOT work while sick or risk exposing any of my patients).
