TX is one of those states where an education works against you politically. It takes a lot of ignorant people to pass a law like this, or even elect the cretins to begin with. One of the GOP's prime weapons since 1965 has been to destroy public education and substitute for-profit, Jesus-based private schools to churn out Xian thralls who will vote as they're told. As for Abbott, he seems for all the world like a sadistic, even homicidal madman.
