Just a day after the PGA Tour shocked the entire world by announcing it would be merging with the Saudi-owned LIV Golf Tour-a for-profit venture-a Congressional bill has been introduced to strip the tour of its tax-exempt status.
Rep. John Garamendi (D-California), the third-ranking minority member on the House Armed Services Committee, proposed the “No Corporate Tax Exemption for Professional Sports Act,” which would put an end the PGA Tour’s ability to file as an IRS 501-C organization, as it has done for decades.

I appreciate Governors like Gavin Newsom thinking outside of the box on gun reform, like his idea proposing a 28th Amendment that would ban access to assault weapons and raise the age of ownership to 21.
Will some Republicans HATE it because they're owned by the NRA? Absolutely.
But more of us, DEMs, Republicans, and Independents, are looking for action and leadership, and we care that kids are being gunned down in schools and stores and everywhere.
And it's better than doing nothing. We need more Governors like Newsom.

@PaulDitz I’m liberal, not a Democrat, having a hard time remembering when Dems had huge majorities. That was before LGB was normalized and now T is causing some portion of Americans to lose their minds. Normalization will continue, the moral straight jackets will be removed, acceptance gained, and if we are pragmatic, we need a party that can win, and insure that modern Conservatism is minimized. At TPIT Dems appear to have the best chance achieving it, but I’m open to workable alternatives.
