It's weird seeing people defend #Threads and #Meta because of some abstract sense of openness and protocols and whatever. "We shouldn't pre-block anything! That's not open! Let people block individually!"

Why does the giant corporation with a flawless track record of getting it wrong deserve the benefit of the doubt? Seriously? How many times do you need to be kicked in the crotch before you admit the CrotcherKicker5000 from CrotchKick Inc. may, in fact, be functioning exactly as designed?

The word “follower” is just flat-out creepy. “Reader” would be much more dignified.

And like the burning of sage, this linguistic shift might help dispel the bad energy from all the thought-leaders and faith-dealers who mucked up the last place.
