@lappenjammer Exactly! And they usually show you a pivotal plot moment.

@RememberUsAlways @palestine @israel @lebanon @syria @iran @yemen I don't know that you need to be that philosophical about it. You lay down with terrorists, you're a terrorist. Just because you run a state doesn't mean you're not a terrorist when you sleep with terrorists. If the collapse of the terrorist organization "hiding" in your state collapses your state, then you were either fucking or getting fucked by the terrorists all along.

If you don't want a lower class person to murder you with a gun in public, then consider passing some strict gun laws.

Or maybe just don't be subhuman shit, playing with the lives of millions for laughs and profit. Dunno, I'm just spitballing here.

Texas’ maternal mortality committee faces backlash for not reviewing deaths from first two years post-Dobbs

New: Texas’ governor has served 404 Media with a subpoena for info about an internal Google database we were leaked. This is a serious threat to press freedom and we are fighting it legally. We object.

We're getting close to my favorite time of year. That's right, the Christmas special. So far I have managed to avoid the trailer.

In case anyone wondered, you do not have to boost every post in a thread. Boost one, mention that is a great thread and move on.

@darcher Nothing within 500 miles. Chances are if I get that far I'm good. @slcw

"Conducted by California State University Channel Islands economics professor Dr. Bryan Tomlin, the study, titled “#Jewish and #Israeli #Americans Face #Discrimination in the Job Market,” found that job seekers with names that “sound” Jewish and resumes that “signal” a likely Jewish background needed to send 24.2 percent more inquiries to potential employers to gain an equal number of positive responses as non-Jews. For Israelis, the number was higher, with 39 percent more inquiries required for receiving equal responses."

Don't we all. That's the problem: both views are valid.

In the short term, local context, you want an AI tool, of course, whether you're a teacher, parent, student, policymaker....no brainer.

In the long term, national/global scope, you want a broader systemic reform, which the adoption of AI tools disincentives further.

This is what tears my heart apart.

@MrBerard I'd really like to rebuild the system from the bottom up starting with K-3. @edutooters
