After House Repubs grumbled that Mike Johnson turned their leadership summit in Miami into a Bible study session, less than 50% will attend the annual retreat this week. Some grumbled about him moving it from FL to WV because it was more “family friendly.”

Why would you enroll your black baby in a private nursery school operated by white #Christofascists? It's terrible what these #Christians did to this child. He's only 2yo! He was the only black child in the class, and the teachers singled him out for nonstop punishment, disciplining him far more than any other white child in the class. When his parents had the nerve to complain about it, the school expelled the child. Christians are hot garbage.

@timo21 Yes — and this is in many ways a strategic alliance, with the US Catholic bishops and Opus Dei doing a lot of the behind-the-scenes work and putting their white evangelical allies out on Front Street as foot warriors in the culture-war battles. As that goes on and evangelicals take the heat, the bishops and Opus Dei and Federalist Society quietly pack the courts — and the media give those folks a complete pass.
