@circatee No. Not even the cats are on the patio at this point. I usually sit out there all day.
@circatee 96 here according to my watch. Hotter according to the thermometer on the patio.
@circatee I made the mistake of watering some of my plants. Feet were burned by the time I finished.
6 totally corrupt ChristoFascists end #AffirmativeAction but "Legacy admissions at the same universities are alive & well. All kinds of backscratching & logrolling go on at the highest levels of our society
Even CJ Roberts left affirmative action in place at the military academies" -Charlie Pierce
@circatee Oh! Thanks for the reminder!

"As the presidential race for 2024 starts in earnest, democracy is on the ballot. While many eyes will be on campaign rallies & debate stages, the work of restoring democracy is being done by Black leaders like the ones who delivered the Alabama victory."

HOW TO SPOT A RIP CURRENT:
IT'S WHERE THE WATER LOOKS EASIEST AND SAFEST, with no waves breaking or rolling in.
NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE.
If you get caught in a rip, DON'T FIGHT IT. You can't swim back to shore against it; you will become exhausted and drown.
Instead, SWIM ACROSS IT, parallel to shore. You'll soon be out of the current and can then easily swim back.
Boost, please, and make sure your friends and family know this when they hit the beach.
@MonotoneofBill Same, Bill. Same.
@rbreich Funny my PPP loan wasn’t forgiven, I paid every fucking cent back. Guess I’m not rich enough for loan forgiveness. Republicans are criminals
@pbump oh you mean with the plaintiff who isn’t gay and never tried to get a website? That case?
Listen. My husband and I paid off all of our student debts the old fashioned way. When I heard younger people getting relief I could only think one thing:
Thank God someone noticed the huge negative impact debts have. It was one of the best things Biden did. And only fair considering PPP relief and bailout happened.
Going of your way to reverse what was *already settled* is spiteful. Especially when the PPP relief isn't even questioned.
SOCUTS is full of spite for ordinary people.
Addendum- when someone says “vote”, that doesn’t mean they don’t know about gerrymandering, voter suppression, or how the Senate and Electoral College are set up. I already know this. Many people if not all who post about voting on this platform already know this.
The number of people who don’t vote isn’t equal the the number of people who are suppressed, number one. And two, we have to remind people to vote and help people vote who have obstacles and we need them to vote, too.
We know.
@gneilyo @jrconlin @BobRobertsonXI @SrRochardBunson @lednabm But it's going to take some time. Rendering people who discriminate on the basis of their religious beliefs unable to claim protected and thus subject to enforcement actions for civil rights violations. And the Supremes need to be careful how they legislate, because the Law of Unintended Consequences was not repealed by their actions yesterday...
