If you see someone using a Mastodon instance you don't know about but are curious, Just put the domain without username in your browser. For example, just go to mastodon.xyz, retro.pizza, or wondering.shop. This will load the local feed of that instance.

Click "..." in the mobile browser, or "About" by the domain name in the lower left on a desktop browser, and read about the general idea and policies of that instance.

In case you missed it, Mastodon now lets you edit posts 🥳

You can edit any post you've made, and it will send a notification to people who have already interacted with it to prevent any hijinks or shenanigans. It also lets people see the previous versions.

You can access it through your server's website and some third party apps, for example iPhone/iPad app Toot! and Android app Fedilab.

(The official app doesn't yet support it, so it's another good reason to check out third party apps.)

@TonyStark The only difference I see between the GOP of old (post Reagan) and now? They’re saying the quiet part out loud. They’re now dealing in the politics of every single “ism” out there. They’re desperately trying to create the “other” for vilification. They no longer govern, they only incite violence & pump up the rhetoric to whip their “base” into a frothing frenzy. So many don’t see it this way and that’s a real danger.

Condemning a GOP presidential candidate for dining with a neo-Nazi and holocaust denier should be the easiest thing for Republicans to do. Their refusal to do so makes clear how much Trump has succeeded in normalizing this dangerous behavior.
