@sortius @Wileymiller Right, Kinsey was of the opinion the some degree of bisexual inclination, from very small to even split is in more than two thirds of us.
True bi's can choose a partner. What we cannot choose is who we fall in love with.
Ember in the Canopy
Here’s a red-eyed vireo (Vireo olivaceus)—the first I’ve ever photographed, and quite possibly the first I’ve ever seen. Such a cool moment. It dropped by while Charlie and I were outside, enjoying a bit of birdwatching together.
Step into a world where even the smallest moments—like the glint in a bird's eye—tell their own story.

Angel Wings: A Tandem Flight
Two rock pigeons (Columba livia), perfectly aligned one above the other, glide in tandem through the air. There's a painterly quality to the image—a softness and grace that feels almost brushstroked. I can imagine it printed on canvas, where its quiet elegance would truly shine.

@Nonilex The headline seems poorly written. It should be "… trans ex-service members …"
I mean, once you are trans, how do you become no longer trans?
It is time to start calling the Felon a pedophile. Everyone has to refer to him that way. As with Couchfucker, he will have no recourse that will not make his situation worse, and the target will simply be too broad to sue.

White Ghost of the Tide
This image captures a snowy egret (Egretta thula) I observed hunting in a tidal pool along the beach in Gulfport, Mississippi.

I submit that we should abandon "techbros" and start calling them "techrons", because, beyond the tech world, they can truly be morons.
@Strandjunker Well, he knows the cure. He told us once before. We need to just shove a 2000W UV light up his ass, turn it on and leave it on until he is all better.
@PaulWermer @petergleick
I read that pdf (cannot find it now). At the time it was written, gasoline was aound us$1.50, and their broad estimate said the real cost would be between $5 and $15, depending on which/how you count subsidies/externalities.
So figure 3x ~ 10x what you see.
Where do they get their revenue?
Oh, yeah, *advertisers*.
Getting your friends to stop watching Fox will accomplish basically nothing. Get a list of their revenue sources, and target them.
And, the tchatchke dealers and magic coin hawkers, order from them and cancel. DDoS those grifters.
@celesteh It has an Intel processor in it. Trash.
Mystical Grackle
When we’re out walking, I’m always scanning for birds, especially species that aren’t common in the area. I spotted this blackbird as it settled beneath a distant pine tree. The challenge of photographing a bird from afar, especially while holding the camera off-hand, is that I’m never quite sure whether I’ve focused on the bird itself or its surroundings. In this case, it was likely the latter—making me almost hesitant to share the shot. Still, the iridescent blue tint on the head and tail of this common grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) is striking.

Good morning. 🕊️🕊️🕊️

I often call Charlie 'Charlie McGee' or some other variation, in tribute to his Scottish heritage. He's a border collie, after all. Of course, he's completely unaware of all that—except for the 'Charlie' part; he knows his name. When we're out in the yard and he wanders off, all I have to do is call, 'Charlie!' and he comes running around the corner. He’s every bit a working dog, always accompanying me when there’s yard work to do. Though his role is more supervisory—lounging in the shade while I cut the grass or, as I like to say in French, 'mow-de-lawn'—a classic grandpa joke. He does his part well. When he first arrived at our home, he spent much of his time trying to herd us around—must be in his genes.

@ai6yr I had a Varsity for about 15 years. I gradually replaced every part on it with something better, including the frame (Letour). It was the bicycle of theseus.
