@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social How it was forced? Granted the wealthy has always controlled the show outside of revolution. Manufacturing developed, people left the farms because the pay was better. Companies/corporations attracted investors, etc. Under an anarchistic system how do you see manufacturing develop substantially differently?

What a slippery slope our environmental degradation is.

Are we going to normalize having to have personal air purifiers in our homes (for those who can afford them) and let polluters keep polluting, rather than clean up the air for everyone?

How a Florida county became the book ban heartland of the US

As the extremist group Moms for Liberty flourishes in Clay county, a campaign of outrage has books disappearing from school shelves

@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social I’d say that’s a false conclusion. What changed drastically? Technology changed us. Why did people leave the farms for the cities? Centers of wealth based on technology and production of material goods. Capitalism was a natural path for humanity. Observing not selling, not defending it. 🫣

@WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social It sounds like or can I infer that tearing it it all down is your solution? 🤔Hypothetical, if you were in a protest and a huge fight started between Proud Boys and Antifa, what side would you pick or would you retreat? Not asked prejudicially.

@JizzelEtBass@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social How about in the realm of large scale democracies it has been as successful as we could expect humans to perform? 😉

@JizzelEtBass@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social Try it again! 😉😊

@chrixmaru@kolektiva.social @mloxton @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social Dear Mastodon user, you’ve have captured not only the essence of Capitalism, but identified why it can’t last in any future scenario with automation, compounded by AI where the masses with pitch forks don’t show up at the Lord’s manor to string him up, and then descend into… anarchy 😁 I’m kind of serious, but what do I know, I just imagine.

@EmbraceBecoming@kolektiva.social @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @mbrewer@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @enby_of_the_apocalypse@kolektiva.social @SocialistStan@mymastadon.link We are what we do, or agree to en mass. This is where we will go as a species, and likely we will sink or swim on planet Earth together. 🤔

@JizzelEtBass@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social The bottom line is do what you see seem plausible? We all have a read on human nature. I’ve already mentioned Station 11 today, I highly recommend it. 😀 npr.org/2021/12/15/1064489843/

@JizzelEtBass@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social What the USA proves is that you can be a successful democracy with a substantial number of hypocrites and forces trying to twist it to serve themselves. The majority will rule in what it insists on or what it allows. We’re humans right? 🤔🫣

@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton You are talking about people and what people do. Am I right to say that if we were magically dropped into anarchist setting we would continue to do what we do, abuse each other or would our nature magically change? 🤔

@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @mloxton I’ll argue that norms are established by practise of what humans do. And as a rule they don’t do anarchy. Believe it or not I’m not intending to be prejudicial, but observational and I’m not hostile to your preferences. 🙂

@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @EmbraceBecoming@kolektiva.social @mloxton @SocialistStan@mymastadon.link @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social Anarchy resists authority that has been democratically agreed to based on a majority? If we want to get anything big done, there has to be structure, and there is always a hierarchy among humans.

@mloxton @Lightfighter @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social I don’t think that the anarchy advocates realize the suffering and death that (I imagine) would be required to achieve it. The idea of “I’ll be happy then” is by no means assured. It’s one thing to discuss anarchy as an idea/philosophy and another to think that a forced conversion would be other than deadly to millions and maybe that’s our fate. 🤔

@mloxton @chrixmaru@kolektiva.social @WolfChristensen@kolektiva.social @spoons@kolektiva.social @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social Capitalism shipped millions of jobs East decimating the USA post WWII middle class, business models are typically built on slave labor wages, it’s not about sharing the wealth but securing wealth for small groups of people, and many employees are not even guaranteed a share. Automation and AI accelerates this trend to a tipping point.

@SocialistStan@mymastadon.link @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social You don’t live in a vacuum. If you have millions of people living together and you hope to get any big things accomplished, like infrastructure, there has to be a level of organization supported by democracy, with an agreed to pay structure. You can either agree to participate or instead maybe wait for the local War Lord’s thugs to appear on your doorstep and dictate, to include dating your daughter.

@EmbraceBecoming@kolektiva.social @SocialistStan@mymastadon.link @mloxton @Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social I highly recommend watching Station Eleven, a wonderful post-apocalyptic portrayal of anarchy. As far as it goes I have no issues with it. The key is that most of humanity has been wiped out…🤔
