I was just talking to a neighbor -- who's absolutely lovely, biblically nice guy -- and had to explain this fact.
Black and Latinx folks aren't categorically poorer because we're "dumb". That's just how the country was set up.
When it comes to white supremacy, some folks attribute "intelligence" to what is actually "insidiousness"
@somarasu White Privileged is mixed in there, a milder version of Supremacy but allows whites of any income bracket to feel superior and expect special treatment.🤔 And at the beginning look at who founded the country and who was brought in as slaves. A professor’s analogy, playing Monopoly and not being able to buy property for 20 trips around the board a distinct disadvantage. And most immigrants arrive economically disadvantaged. A lot of work required to overcome.

Republicans want to block anyone from getting abortions even when one is needed for their health.
Democrats want you to be able to control your body entirely until the point of viability and then to be able to get an abortion when your life is in danger and when doctors knows there’s a serious issue.
That’s the bottom line. One of these two things saves lives and it isn't the Republican position.

@Brutus@stranger.social I’m not disagreeing with you, but the depression for myself comes from observing how as a species, we can be simultaneously smart, dumb, and selfish. Our collective role as caretakers of the Earth, the 20th Century was a FAIL and in the 21st, the chickens are coming home to roost. Btw, I don’t claim to be the genius with answers, but can observe and admit our failings. Real solutions are the hard part as we tend to spend more time stabbing each other in the back vs working together. 😪

Why?

At this point “Woke Rage” should be considered a joint conspiracy to influence the weak minded or racists if you prefer, for political advantage, with much of the Right understanding exactly what it is, a tool to generate faux rage. The only real rage comes from the actual racists, intolerant, and STUPID. However, there is room to debate %s of each, 🤔 But as with Trump you must wonder how many of them actually slip into believing their own lies? 🙄
