@LilHulkQ Not to rain on your good vibes, but the challenge as it appears to me among many issues, is for the human species to learn how to be good to strangers, the environment, appreciate our precarious position as passengers on spaceship Earth, stop trashing our home, and thinking that more of us is good thing, at least not until we can actually navigate #TheGreatFilter and actually reach the stars. 🤔

Legs still sore from Wednesday’s 43km trail ride. I’m strangely proud that they gave out before my heart stopped. I’ve reached a new rung of confidence in my ability to not die. I’ve been inwardly timid about pushing too hard, there was even a guy out on the trail who’d give me heck for pushing myself too hard. Haven’t seen him in a while.
@garyackerman Just remember that Govt must be backed by citizens willing to make the necessary sacrifices across the board and be composed of something other than partisan dipshits as I look at the current crop of Right Wing Yahoos. As a species we don’t seem to handle well being told we need to sacrifice, and no it should not be the low income citizens doing the majority of sacrificing. 🤔

We had significant flooding in my region last month. Folks are rebuilding… in the same places. 🤦♂️ I understand the many reasons, but government has a responsibility (IMO) to set regulations to prevent this repeated loss.

I blame Capitalism although I benefitted from it. We create economic systems where we compete, depend on the company we’re vested in to make money and sometimes make us wealthy. Concern about social stability and environment appears outside the purview of profits when there is a lot of wealth involved. At best it’s a token concern and we seem tunable to think in terms of group, planetary health and rise to the occasion, in time. All the warnings mean nada until we are smacked. 😬

I'm so sick of everything being framed as a "cost". What about the *benefits* of doing a thing? Like, what are economic benefits of having extensive and healthy rainforests?
If some fucking economist is like, "we can't calculate that, it's literally incalculable," I'm going to fucking strangle him. Just because something doesn't fit nicely into your spreadsheets, it doesn't mean it lacks value.

They will always have excuses why they can’t pay you adequately and it’s only though the power of numbers that you remind them of your value to the bottom line, especially when skilled work is involved. And Union representation is invaluable in a dispute involving an asshole supervisor. 🤔
