@SeanCasten Thanks for the posts. I’m no expert at all, but States can make demands on Insurance Companies to operate in their State? I’ve seen distinct difference between Minn and Texas as to what must be covered.
Or citizens might expect something along the line of of Federal Flood Insurance at the State or Federal level
Sure, I can see The GOP getting on board with that. Maybe if one of their favorite corporations were asking? But just them, average citizens would not be worthy enough. 🤔

Kinda odd that Yevgeniy Prigozhin was the subject of days of wall-to-wall press coverage and while I there were some references to his involvement in the Internet Research Agency, I didn't see any mention of the fact that he's under a felony indictment in the US for conspiring to get #Trump elected.

It appears that #SCOTUS is not yet a complete tool of ultra right, GOP States Rights crowd.
If you remember the Civil War was fought in the South’s perspective not in the name of pro-slavery, but in the name of State’s Rights, the “right to be bad if we want to”. 🙄 The same thinking that insisted on segregation, and today, hostility towards The Voters Rights Act throwing up multiple roadblocks in the way of convienent voting.

@nataliedavisgdread@newsie.social I want #TheHeadCriminal (yes Trump 😑 ) to be held accountable for his criminal “live life to the fullest” persona, plus the National damage he has orchestrated, while at the same time picturing 30M losers, including most GOP leadership going to war for him, because the losers have decided they only like law and order when they perceive a personal advantage for their hypocritical politics, and Trump, he’s the GOP’s bread and butter. We’ll just have to take our chances. 😬

I was just talking to a neighbor -- who's absolutely lovely, biblically nice guy -- and had to explain this fact.
Black and Latinx folks aren't categorically poorer because we're "dumb". That's just how the country was set up.
When it comes to white supremacy, some folks attribute "intelligence" to what is actually "insidiousness"
@somarasu White Privileged is mixed in there, a milder version of Supremacy but allows whites of any income bracket to feel superior and expect special treatment.🤔 And at the beginning look at who founded the country and who was brought in as slaves. A professor’s analogy, playing Monopoly and not being able to buy property for 20 trips around the board a distinct disadvantage. And most immigrants arrive economically disadvantaged. A lot of work required to overcome.
