The Daily Mail, followed by The Telegraph, reported that a named individual, connected to a House of Lords member, had been charged with a serious criminal offence. Both articles have since vanished.

There has been no correction, no clarification and no statement.

That silence is the failure. If the story was wrong, the Editors' Code requires a prompt, prominent correction. A quiet deletion leaves the claim circulating in screenshots, with nothing on the record to rebut it.

If it was pulled for legal reasons, readers deserve to be told that much.

We are calling on both papers to explain what happened. A newspaper that withdraws a story this grave owes an account to the public and to the person it named.

Of course she is. It’s a core requirement for the position.

Recent bit of vandalism in the traditional Sephardic Seward Park neighborhood on Seattle's south end. Very Modern Orthodox area.

Yesterday targeting a specific family. That has its own problems of course.

A few days ago this graffiti went up in Be'er Sheva Park shown in the photo I've included (same neighborhood).

Look... I got no beef with anti-war protest (or vandalism for that mattter).

Targeting families in American Jewish neghborhoods strikes me as a great indication that your otherwise legitimate protest about Israeli wars is tainted with hating Jews and far less about the war itself.

The celebration of Oct 7, and particularly doing it within this American Jewish neighborhood is a choice. Any celebration of civilian deaths is pretty gross, so as I watch this stuff play out I continue to keep this movement at arm's length. It's equally gross when the pro-Israel crowd celebrates civilian deaths in Gaza.

Anyway, I'm as anti-war as I am anti-you. Fuckheads.

Last week, there was rampant vandalism around Cornell University in response to the university's rape culture, refusal to investigate and prosecute those reponsible, and the university's heavy-handed tactics towards protesters. It's obvious they have bent the knee to #Trump. Don't send your daughters there.
