In short, LaCour took part in an effort to hurt minority voters, to thumb his nose at the federal courts, and to gut what’s left of the Voting Rights Act — an attack on the law so nakedly brazen that the Supreme Court wouldn’t go along with it.

#Louisiana mobilized 135 personnel over the weekend & expect them to arrive in #Washington on Tuesday, said Lt. Col. Noel Collins, a spox for the Louisiana #NationalGuard.

Information about where the #troops would patrol & where they would be housed has been scant. A #Trump admin official said Monday that the Guard members “will protect federal assets, create a safe environment for #law enforcement officials to carry out their duties when required, & provide a visible presence to deter crime.”

"Today, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is flipping the script. He’s not walking into the White House as a lone supplicant like he did back in February, when Trump publicly humiliated him for not showing enough gratitude for American aid. This time, Zelenskyy is coming armed—with Macron, Starmer, Meloni, Merz, von der Leyen, Stubb, and Rutte. It’s not just Ukraine in that room. It’s Europe. All of Europe."

@GottaLaff "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law". The third amendment to the USA constitution. But who knew it would be needed for the confederate army that is massing their forces in Washington D.C.

You may remember reading about the plastic surgeon, Dr. Elisabeth Potter, who was doing a breast reconstruction when she was called out of surgery by United Healthcare to explain why the patient needed an overnight hospital stay.

Well, Dr. Potter has a lot more to say about how the insurance side of medical care works, from a doctor’s perspective. And it’s horrible. For starters:

“It's things like getting a preauthorization for a surgery. I employ two people full-time just to get authorizations for me to do necessary medical procedures for women affected by breast cancer. … They tell me what type of implants I can place, and it varies from insurance to insurance.”

And wait until you read about the peer-to-peer calls, where the supposed peer has no relevant expertise:

I say, "Well, I'd like to talk to you about diep flap surgery." And I hear a pause, and then I say, "Do you know what a diep flap is?" And they say no.

If you voted Trump because you liked the pre-Covid economy, what you actually liked was President Obama’s economy. All Trump did was take credit for President Obama’s hard work. Typical.

If you had simply voted for Kamala Harris, you wouldn’t be paying high tariffs or watching job losses now.
