The Trump administration has codified its efforts to strip some Americans of their US citizenship
in a recently published justice department memo that directs attorneys to prioritize
🔥denaturalization for naturalized citizens who commit certain crimes.

The memo, published on 11 June, calls on attorneys in the department to institute civil proceedings to
🆘 revoke a person’s United States citizenship if an individual either “illegally procured” naturalization or procured naturalization by “concealment of a material fact or by willful misrepresentation”.

At the center of the move are the estimated 25 million US citizens who immigrated to the country after being born abroad, according to data from 2023
– and it lists 10 different priority categories for denaturalization.

❌According to the memo, those subjected to civil proceedings are not entitled to an attorney like they are in criminal cases.

💥And the government has a lighter burden of proof in civil cases than they do in criminal ones.

Senate excludes trillions in debt to make Trump’s tax bill seem cheaper

Senate Republicans slapped a price tag on their tax package that is nearly 90 percent lower than the version that recently passed the House.

They didn’t bring the price down by changing the policies in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Instead, the Senate changed the way they did the math.

Senate Republicans are using a new method to estimate the costs of their tax package that ignores the price of continuing any tax policy in effect when the bill is passed.

That method of accounting, called the “current policy” baseline, lets the Senate advertise President Donald Trump’s tax package at one-tenth of its impact on the nation’s finances as estimated by Congress’s usual way of counting costs.

If the costs were estimated in the traditional way, the Senate’s proposed tax package would add
💥$4.2 trillion 💥to the national debt, according to preliminary estimates from the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

NEW: Kristi Noem, while governor of South Dakota, supplemented her roughly $130,000 salary by secretly accepting $80,000 donated to a political nonprofit she was affiliated with, records show.

She never disclosed this income on federal ethics forms.

@AlliFlowers I hope all the international events move out. Not only for the economic impact (not that does anything to the zillionaires), but simply for the safety of attendees. We essentially have kidnappers you can’t defend against (because then they shoot or tase you) grabbing US citizens off the streets and your identification doesn’t matter. Wrong place, wrong time, ICE raid. You disappear and no one knows anything.

How does removing health care make US great? It is an attack on the poor by elites who don’t care.

Musk said empathy was a weakness and not helping those in need demonstrates how morally corrupt the size has become.

Trump suggests he’d withhold aid to Israel unless prosecutors cancel Benjamin Netanyahu’s ongoing criminal trial: “It is a POLITICAL WITCH HUNT, very similar to the Witch Hunt that I was forced to endure.”

This. Is. Insane.

Trump’s BIG BAD BILL: “Largest transfer of wealth to the rich in American history.

- Largest cut to Medicaid in American history.

- Largest cut to food assistance in American history.

- Electricity costs could go up by 30%.

- Millions of jobs could disappear.

- $4 trillion will be added to the debt.

This is one of the most destructive bills in US history.”— Newsom #press

"Whoa! Alligator Alcatraz is going to be complete by Tuesday and open for operation on Wednesday.

Am I the only one wondering how Ron DeSantis got this together so fast?

Floridians, make sure you remember this the next time a hurricane hits and you can’t get disaster relief in your state.

BTW— don’t miss this point. Alligator Alcatraz is being built on sacred Native land."

Dragged off by ICE in front of her kids. No warrant. Neighbors thought it was a kidnapping. Her kids cried: “Don’t let go!” “I can’t lose my mom!”

ICE came back — took her anyway — then admitted they got the wrong person. “Blatantly unconstitutional” to detain someone without reasonable suspicion — LA County officials. ktla.com/news/local-news/ice-a #press

Forcing low-income kids to work at McDonald's is about stealing their education, their childhood, and their future.

It's about creating an underclass who can never have the same opportunities as their own children.

You where veterans end up when they can’t get food and housing? The emergency room.
Where do kids go when their parents can’t afford heat and food? The ER. Where does granny go when she is evicted from her nursing home? The ER. Where does your nice neighbor in her wheelchair go when her feet freeze in winter after Republicans take away her heating assistance? The ER.

My ER has 19 beds at the moment. Two are curtained-off rooms. We have one shower, and it doesn’t have a patient lift. Do the math

People🚨losing #Medicaid are more likely to miss out on med care, get sick, & in the worst cases die prematurely.

Rs are about to slash a lifeline for the needy. In NC, ppl are preparing for chaos & calamity.

The potential of MDCD cuts to reverberate so broadly, esp in rural areas, is one of the few issues that seem to be giving even some Rs in DC pause, but they’re willing to live with cuts.

That'd have sweeping, harsh effects on NC, & the other 49, too.
#Health #USPol thebulwark.com/p/medicaid-cuts

In the US it takes a minimum of ten years to train a medical doctor (12 is typical for your family doc or internist, and for some specialists it is 16+ years). The Republican’s cuts to the budget are going to close hospitals and destroy medical education. Doctors will absolutely leave the country, quit, and retire (many already are). How many years do you think it will take to rebuild?

We must teach the importance of humans, and I believe that the fetishizing of #stem out of context has caused issues.

Honestly, this story SHOULD be that Pam Bondi is freeing a violent criminal alien and giving him working papers. Just like Trump freed hundreds of cop assailants and some terrorists.
