He is claiming they leaked classified information, but in reality, they leaked that HE was leaking classified information.

If you want to classify #autism as a disease, then let's also fucking classify a lack of #empathy as a disease. Because that's the thing that's sure as shit killing society at the moment.

This is just outrageous [NYTimes-Gifted]: An Immigrant Held in U.S. Custody ‘Simply Disappeared’. The Venezuelan man did not appear on a list of people sent to a prison in El Salvador, and his family and friends had no idea of his whereabouts. By Miriam Jordan

I realized it's been a minute since I've posted Snooty. He's gotten huge and no longer fits in his little house. I gave him a new hideout, but he didn't like where I put it, so he had to move it.

Basically USA Republicans Have decided to try to cut Medicaid, and then when people lose medical services and get sick or die, blame the states. They think their constituents are stupid enough to buy that. I can't argue, history has shown that sometimes when they make that bet they're absolutely correct. I only hope this is not one of those times.

"The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national suicide and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week.Since the hotline’s launch in 2022, callers have been able to speak with counselors trained to work with specific at-risk populations, including LGBTQ youth, who are four times more likely to attempt suicide than their peers."

Tonight, as the sun sets, marks the beginning of Yom HaShoah
where we remember the six million—
not just how they were taken,
but how they held on.

Shabbat candles lit in cellars,
psalms mouthed in the smoke,
Torah smuggled in torn coats,
faith buried like seeds in the snow.

They fought—
with words, with hunger strikes,
with lullabies in the dark.

They were not just numbers.
They were our blood.
Our broken, burning heart.

And somehow, we’re still here.
Singing in strange lands,
lighting candles with their names in our mouths,
walking the long road they never finished.

Their memory is not just grief.
It is covenant.
It is uprising.
It is the flame we refuse to let die.

Time to stop using Vance's nickname. But what name to use, because he's had several?
His actual name, at the moment, is James David Vance.
His other alias are James Donald Bowman and James David Hamel.
JD is his Appalachian nick name that makes him sound all folksy.
He's anything but a man of the people and everyone should stop treating him as such.

They want you to be scared.

They want you to be silent.

They want you to feel alone.

Refuse. Hope is an act of defiance.

Even as defamation lawsuits continue to find no evidence of a fraudulent election, President Donald Trump keeps insisting that the 2020 vote was “rigged.” He’s issuing orders targeting officials and lawyers whose work undercut his claims, and demanding states tighten voting rules to prevent alleged fraud. #trump #election #politics

I was back in the DC Jail yesterday, working with incarcerated students on their way to a high school degree.

Their songs and poetry are visceral and honest and beautiful, I wish everyone could hear them.

Don't believe the hype about the "hardened criminals" and "gang bangers" who deserve to suffer at the hands of the state. Whatever they may have done, these are human beings, and they deserve human rights and human dignity.

What will JD Vance be best remembered for?

There may be appropriate legal penalties for the leakers, although "he used a Signal chat" does not appear to be legitimate classified information.

But as you say, he did it and has not actually denied it.

Gov't officials mustn't use Signal to evade public records rules. "If you decide to have your communications...in a way that is not trackable or retrievable in response to a FOIA request, what you are doing is circumventing the law," @evacide told @axios. axios.com/2025/04/22/signalgat
