You’ve probably never heard of George Lucas’s Stormtrooper Band. They never had a hit.

I know that several people (Thomas Jefferson and George Bernard Shaw to name but two) have said something to the effect that the electorate gets the politicians they deserve, but just as the UK really didn't deserve the Tories, I'm sure that the vast majority of the US public don't deserve Trump. I really really hope in these last few days of the campaign that sufficient voters turn out to deny him another term in the White House. For all our sakes.

@futurebird When I was a civil servant I had to make sure I paid for my coffee and donut when government contractors held catered meetings. We could not be seen to have taken *anything* from a company with interest in government contracts. Yet we have Congress members who get privileged briefings on things that impact the future of the country, including business sectors, who then get rich on buying stocks. That is wrong. And they are the people who would have to pass a law that would limit their ability to enrich themselves, so here we have the problem. We could perhaps limit their unethical behavior with term limits but again they are the people who would have to make that law.
