Best “elect me because” flex?

For Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to call to your attention the Educator Assistance Act, a bill designed to soften the stranglehold of contracts that teachers are forced to sign when they gain employment in our public schools.

In very few industries are these types of employment contracts so one-sided. This bill gives teachers more flexibility to get out of these contracts without fear of losing their certification to teach.

It passed the SC House unanimously a year ago but is stuck in the SC Senate, not even having gotten out of committee. The last day of session is THIS THURSDAY. They need to act now before it's too late. It's the least our state can do for our wonderful educators.

Israel is sending a delegation back to Cairo for more talks on the details of a cease-fire.
