JUST IN: Judge HOWELL has ordered immediate enforcement of Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss’ judgment against #RudyGiuliani, contending they have ample reason to doubt he will make good on it. #legal

Via @Brandi_Buchman:

"Giuliani feebly counters concerns about him hiding assets, stating there is no evidence in record of any attempt by [him] to dissipate assets. This statement simply ignores the ample record in this case of Giuliani’s efforts to conceal or hide his assets..."

"Texas emergency management officials chartered a private plane and flew at least 91 migrants to Chicago Tuesday evening...records link the plane’s tail number to the Texas Division of Emergency Management..."

Texas taxpayers: are you down with this?

I am sure many of us are just amazed that there was ever any debate, that a traitor, an insurrectionist, should be able to run for anything except off the end of a plank.

Anderson v. Griswold, ruling that Trump is ineligible to appear on Colorado’s Republican primary ballot, is about 200 pages. I’m attaching it here, with my annotations, to help folks through the material. I’ve highlighted different sections in different colors and underlined or otherwise indicated particularly important passages. All the opinions are clear and important to read for yourself, whether or not you are a lawyer. drive.google.com/file/d/13peW_ #LawFedi #Jan6 #2024 #PresidentialElection

ANY state or local official can REJECT Trump as constitutionally disqualified from office, under the 14th Amendment.

It does not require Congress.

It does not require a lawsuit.

Trump has ALREADY been disqualified. Automatically.

Colorado just recognized the obvious.

Soon, SCOTUS is going to decide:

1) Whether Trump is disqualified from office for leading an insurrection

2) Whether Trump is immune from being prosecuted for leading that same insurrection

Clarence Thomas should recuse himself from BOTH cases. He won't. But he should.

For the life of me - I don’t understand anarchists.

@smeg @TonyStark what if I told you that zionism is merely the right of Jews to self-determine in parts of their ancestral lands, and that the majority of Jews are opposed to the West Bank settlements?

The reason why our hackles are raised by this is that people frequently mistake criticism of Israeli policy in the West Bank and Gaza for anti-zionism. It's not - anti-zionism calls for the abolishment of the entire state of Israel, with no regard for where the millions of Jews living there would go.

@TucsonSentinel
Ranked Choice Voting is our quickest, most accessible path towards ending the two-party monopoly that our Electoral College has created and it will increase voter turnout because more Americans will feel their votes can matter more. Voter apathy is what has allowed the far-right to accrue so much power.

In Alaska’s new election system, it “gave citizens greater choice and elevated the most broadly appealing candidates, in turn improving representation.”

@TonyStark

"It’s on those people to do better."
You are absolutely correct.

The backlash you have endured shows people are allowing their emotions to prevail over any critical thinking, unfortunately.

I am so sorry people have not learned there is a immense difference between the Netanyahu Government and the Israeli people.

And there is NO EXCUSE for blaming Jewish people here for the ACTIONS of a GOVERNMENT in ANOTHER COUNTRY!!
(Capitals for readers-not yelling at you Tony)

"We've always done it that way"

Is not an acceptable answer or justification.

House Democrats will always protect Social Security and Medicare.

So in Texas, you can now be arrested (along with your doctors) if you have a miscarriage and you can be arrested on site for "suspicion" of being "illegal" (meaning if you have brown skin).

A large amount of accounts on this platform seem to be too consumed with yelling at American Jews to even care about what’s going on here.

On the way home yesterday, @sheilasmall and I stopped at the most wonderful little Bonsai farm off I-10 near Marianna FL. This is what I bought.
