Republicans just tried to sabotage a normally routine national defense bill -- not by addressing any particular, relevant aspects of the legislation itself, or by offering concrete counter-proposals, but by loading it down with riders to try revoke more rights from all of us and trying to prevent us from living our own lives.

Hard to believe there's anyone worse than Josh Hawley (R-Insurrection) who held up the bill in the Senate because what he wanted wasn't in it, but here we are.

What would be best is to have excellent public schools where everyone is safe. That’s the best goal.
