I’m tired of seeing random people online say in effect they think Israel should be judenrein. I’m not talking about interpretations of slogans, I’m talking about fleshed out statements.

One thing to watch abt Ivanka testimony: How many journalists repeat Trump's slur accusing AG James of fraud w/o even attempting to explain the fraud he is adjudged of?

Trump has an utterly genius ability to get self-imagined straight journalists to repeat his script over and over. It never ceases to amaze me.

The sound bites of coverage say James is fraud, don't say Trump is.

New York AG #LetitiaJames:

"We uncovered the scheme and she benefited from it personally. And Ms. #Trump will do all that she can to try to separate herself from this corporation, but she's inextricably tied to the Trump Org. and to these properties, that she helped secure financing for." #Ivanka #legal #NewYork.

Unlike her father & her brothers #EricTrump & #DonaldTrumpJr, #Ivanka is no longer a defendant in #NYAG #LetitiaJames’ lawsuit. James alleges that #Trump’s asset values were fraudulently pumped up for years on #financial statements that helped him get #loans & #insurance.

Like every Republican now, Glenn Youngkin tried to gaslight Virginians about what he really wanted to do on reproductive freedom. A ban on reproductive freedom is a ban no matter what phony timeline or "exceptions" they try to sell.

Thanks, VA voters, for a massive rejection of Youngkin and his far-right, big government, book-banning, anti-LGBTQ, anti-choice agenda.

Virginia Democrats win full legislative control, AP reports:

@wdlindsy I think that finally people (women especially) are realizing that the "abortion issue" isn't really about abortion per se, it is about women's rights. The Hobby Lobby case showed us, first it is abortion and then contraceptives generally they want to ban.

MSNBC published exit polls grouped by age and sex. Men and women ages 18-44 were like 80/20 in favor. Women 45+ were also in favor, but only by 55/45 (or so). The only group opposed? Men over 45, whose split was close to 45/55.

Once again the "party of freedom" (the GOP) merely wants to control people in their way.

this rashida tlaib shit is complete bullshit, i read her statement and there was nothing even remotely offensive in it, and if a palestinian american can't speak her views about her own native country then what kind of fucking free speech is that? total bullshit fuck everyone who voted to censure her
just shows you that there is no party, democrat or republican that is above christofacism

@RickiTarr I try not to say “I hate” because people often say that about things that are just inconvenient, or when things don't go our way.

To say “I hate” something is just surface level imo, I always think well, why do you hate it? What's the feeling underneath?

Maybe you feel powerless, sad, frustrated, forgotten, helpless, betrayed etc. Then “I want to scream in my car with Lana Del Ray on full volume because I feel so trapped, frustrated and afraid” is what's actually happening.

Democrats key to victory in 2024: “It’s the abortion, stupid.” On Tuesday, Democrats again won by championing women’s reproductive freedom against GOP’s goal of imposing their religious beliefs as law to deprive women of a human right. My article deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/

@TonyStark Voters want Roe. They don't want 15 week ban with exceptions, they don't want a 13 week ban, and they don't want a 6 week ban. Republicans are backpedaling as fast as they can but it's not fast or far enough because they took away Roe, which was already the *compromise*.

Reject politicians offering anything less than the compromise of Roe and enshrine reproductive rights in law.

Abortion was also on the ballot In Virginia, where the entire state legislature was up for grabs today. Republican governor Glenn Youngkin made it clear he wanted control of the legislature in order to push through a measure banning abortion after 15 weeks. This ploy was one Republicans were using to seem to soften their antiabortion stance, which has proven terribly unpopular. …

It didn’t work."

@wdlindsy Not all states have a referendum system like Ohio, but it would not surprise me if such referendums would easily pass in, at a minimum 35 states (representing probably 80% of the entire US population). Might even pass in 45 states.

This is why the GOP uses race/crime as their main issues. Majorities across the country oppose GOP policies on healthcare, schools, economic development and pretty much everything else. The GOP can not afford to let voters vote on issues.

@RickiTarr probably not since I work at a cancer center next to the ladies that deal with pre-auths that always have issues because insurance thinks people do chemo for kicks.

Molly Jong-Fast of #VanityFair refers to doctors, fearful of losing their licenses or even getting prosecuted, who now will wait until a woman is near death before treating her. "There are women in this country who don't want to die for [U.S. House Speaker] Mike Johnson's religious beliefs."
