Dang... my wife just called me and said she heard a transformer blow somewhere near our house. Then she heard a second boom.

I guess it could have been anything but the transformers in our neighborhood are on the ground and have covers over them. I suspect it's the heavy electrical load that is being placed on our section of the grid.

We've gone about four weeks with triple digit heat and I guess the equipment finally just gave up the ghost.
