UK Scouts are being moved to hotels in Seoul after an international event in South Korea was hit by extreme heat.

Hundreds have fallen ill at the outdoor World Scout Jamboree, which is attended by more than 40,000 young people from around the world, amid 35C (95F) heat.

The British group of 4,500, the largest in attendance, is moving from a camp site at Saemangeum to Seoul.

The US and Singaporean teams are also pulling their members out of the event.

Somebody on here said the other day that they would accept him "stepping down from politics" as a punishment and said that it worked well in Agnew's case. I have rarely been so mad. Trump is a particularly arrogant criminal who is currently facing 78 charges, and he was found liable for being a rapist (yes, the judge ruled that what he did counts). To NOT have him spend time in prison should have more Americans rioting than the reverse.

A final objection I have to the EC is that each state gets 2 extra electoral votes added for its Senators. Today this really allows those states to Bigfoot populous states when it comes to picking the prez.
The Senate was another compromise/concession to small population & slave states to expand their influence.
Ps - don’t get me started on the Senate—the 60 vote rule, the filibuster, plus whatever IT is that allows just a single Senator like tuberville to hold up all the military promotions.

Pregnant Texans shouldn't have even had to sue to be able to have abortions in life-threatening situations. If you're pregnant anywhere, it should be your choice to carry the pregnancy to term, period. But in 2023, in the state that kicked off the end of Roe v. Wade, it's a relief when a a judge decides that doctors won't be jailed if they help an ill pregnant woman or one carrying a fetus with a fatal anomaly (pending the March 2024 trial on the case).

Judge Jessica Mangrum has blocked a number of Texas’ abortion bans as they apply to dangerous pregnancy complications, stating that doctors cannot be punished for providing those procedures to pregnant people with certain complications.

Judge Mangrum stated that doctors cannot be prosecuted for using their own "good faith judgement.”
