This happens to us Jews as well.
And it's worse (at least to me) when it's an admin of an instance who has a "no bigotry" policy.
And even worse than that when they say "That's not antisemitic", saying that Jews don't have agency of what is and isn't hate speech.
And even worse when they make a claim of weaponized antisemitism, ie they say that the claim of antisemitism is only there to silence them. It's a way to silence minority voices.
Thank you for bringing this up. It's so important to hear- whether it's white/black, Jewish/gentile, trans/cis, people who are not of the minority or marginalized group need to do their best to listen!

I remember the day, a few months ago, when some person squeaked out a querulous, hopeful message to the void:
"So...on this platform we can say Fuck TERFs, right?"
And the response was an ear-splitting 'FUCK TERFS' that barraged that poor new person and echoed out across the land....
And maybe, maybe, there were a few tiny voices that stood up and identified themselves as TERFs, but thanks to the honeypot built into this system, they were quickly fucked off into whatever land TERFs go to fuck off into, and what remained was the happiest, most joyous celebration of people realizing that THE TERFS AREN'T HERE.
And that was my favorite day on the fedi.
