The people of Florida passed a law saying that felons who served their time could vote.

Ron DeSantis decided if there were any unpaid fines, they could be *sent to prison* for voting. It's hard to find out if you have any unpaid fines.

Have improved my response to the "are you a boy or a girl" question that kids often ask me.

Yesterday I was cycling over Thessins Bridge and had to slow down to navigate my way through a group of pre teens with skateboards.

They were a lively group, a bit raggedy, possibly from the nearby informal settlement. With an appealing punk energy.

One of them asked me, and I responded "I'm not sure. What do you think?" and I saw that moment of surprise that meant I might have introduced a new idea there.

Israel's Netanyahu is hospitalized to finally receive a heart, but experts are unsure whether his body will accept it.

I would like to see a new federated permission like "allow crowd editing of the image description." That way, important images can be crowd-described once they are important or seen often enough to bother. I guarantee people will volunteer to do it. There could even be a "call" button to flag the the item as needing one. The item's author can opt-in to keeping the right to approve such modifications.

My spouse returned from a road trip to Galveston with #Covid. And now, I have it too. Three and a half years of precautions, and it’s finally hit us 😞 . Fever, congestion, cough, and aches, so we’re both taking Paxlovid. I’m really happy I seemed to have avoided getting anything while on my flights to Florida, or while hanging with my Mom’s friends at her retirement community. Instead, he got it from some unmasked Texan while I was away. Be careful out there, folks. It’s really not over.

In the internment camps we learned valuable skills! Like how not to get shot for trying to escape, when we just running to use the public latrine on a freezing cold night.
