Oh i get it, Black convicts can’t vote, white convicts can be president 👍

Doug Ford attacks & belittles teachers & education workers all the time.
He has little formal education himself & views education as an obstacle. He 'partnered' with the construction industry & changed the rules to encourage teens to leave school early & go to work. Ditto the reduced education requirements for #Ontario police officers.
His underfunding & constant chipping away at the value of public education lowers respect & fosters a dismissive attitude from students & parents. #Bill98

Education stands against the Talibangelicals and fascism. Jefferson started the public schools because he believed that democracy required an educated populace to make it work. We began as a secular country, but white nationalist Xian schools are pumping out citizens with no knowledge of history, science, or civics and public schools are systematically underfunded. We need to get rid of private/religious K-12 schools completely.

Good morning, friends: There's no time better than now to call/email your representatives and ask them to codify #ICWA in your state. Protect Indigenous children and #NativeSovereignty.

Is this a COPIER in one of the rooms where Trump kept government documents at Mar-a-Lago?

“I think the chances of a guilty verdict are fairly high, and the chances of real jail time are pretty high.”

— Former Trump chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, in a GB News interview.

In other news, #fascist #collaborators are trying to rehabilitate their reputations, and the media are helping them do it.

With all the factions heading to Miami to support TFG, what happens if the violent ones clash with the pacifist ones? You know, like the Proud Boys vs. the Evangelicals?

Former Watergate attorney John Dean told CNN that Trump body man Walt Nauta should cooperate with the government against the former president.

Said Dean: “I’d suggest a plea deal. He’s facing 20 years — it’s overwhelming evidence and looks like beyond a reasonable doubt almost off of the material that is raised in the indictment — and I don’t know how he can win this. So, he could strike a good deal and help put it away for the government. I don’t know why he got himself involved this way.”

Yes, he should. He should have to work at the board of elections and donate the "volunteer" money to the Capitol.

✔️ Via Lawrence O'Donnell:

Imagine where this country would be today without the anti-democratic institution of the #ElectoralCollege which no democracy born after ours has copied.

#Trump never would’ve seen a classified document were it not for the Electoral College.

"I must remind you that starving a child is violence. Neglecting school children is violence. Punishing a mother and her family is violence.."

Chuck Grassley tells me he hasn’t read the #TrumpIndictment because he’s “not a legal analyst” (he previously chaired the judiciary committee)

Joni Ernst - concerned if allegations are true
Steve Daines - concerned about Biden
Deb Fischer - wouldn’t answer

All told me they haven’t read it. #GOPfail

Republicans have introduced more than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills in 2023 alone, all over the country.

They're obsessed with controlling who Americans love, how they identify, and even where they can go to the bathroom. Here's why.

SOMEBODY NEEDS TO EXPLAIN VERY CLEARLY:

It's NOT that he *** HAD *** the documents ... like Pence and Biden and Hillary!

It's that he *** OBSTRUCTED *** their legal return!

With all the factions heading to Miami to support TFG, what happens if the violent ones clash with the pacifist ones? You know, like the Proud Boys vs. the Evangelicals?

I remember when people shrouded their bigotry under the guise of “state’s rights”…

Nowadays, they’re calling it “parental rights.”

60 years ago today, Mississippi @naacp field secretary Medgar Evers, a #WW2 veteran who fought in Normandy, was murdered outside his home in Jackson. His case was reopened in 1989, & his assassin finally convicted 5 years later. #history
