Things that Make Teachers Go Hmmm - Maybe pay raises and professional respect would be a good idea. Just saying. teacherinastrangeland.blog/202 via @nancyflanagan #teachers

LMAO, "irregardless" is trending.

Still doesn't hit as hard as "supposably," which is supposably an actual word.

Don't axe me why.

A pessimist sleeps with a knife under the pillow.

So does an optimist. Someone might stop by bringing cake.

Sweet grifting jesus! Elise Stefanik is fundraising off the Trump indictment and the fine print is something to behold:

A $250 donation to the “OFFICIAL TRUMP DEFENSE FUND,” for example, breaks down to $247.50 for Stefanik and $2.50 for the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee.

A $500 donation translates to $495 for Stefanik and $5 for Trump.

A $3,300 donation breaks down to $3,267 for Stefanik and $33 for Trump.

I have not graded for 2 years at the college level, have iterated an ungrading approach with a collective that regularly meets monthly, we have been meeting for 2+ years. Unfortunately most are still on the bird app.
Would be nice to develop a #ungrading community here.

It’s clear Trump “understood exactly what he was doing,” says Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and even if he didn’t, that’s “no excuse.”

CW: UK transphobia, medical transphobia

Oh, so when the then Prince Charles demanded homeopathy (a pseudoscientific quack remedy) be made available on the NHS we had to fund it for years, but now the international, thoroughly validated standard of care that saves young trans people's lives is regarded as insufficiently evidenced.

Either healthcare is evidence-based or it is a political football kicked around by the non-clinicians with the most bully-power. But we cannot have both.

@p___x I’d recognize you anywhere! I’m starting to feel like we’re getting the band back together.

Today, the People's House – your house – sends a clear message to the country and to the world.

America is a nation of pride.

This one is for my Black and brown readers. Fellow white folks, please sit this one out, but feel free to boost for a bigger sample size.

When you see "Our organization has a commitment to diversity and inclusion" in a set of non-profit corporate policies, what is your first thought?

Denver Post is looking to interview Long Covid patients:

"Have you had long COVID? The Denver Post wants to talk to you"

"While life has largely returned to normal for most people, COVID-19 and its after-effects are still around.

Reporter Meg Wingerter is working on an article about how people with long COVID are recovering, or not recovering, in the fourth year of the pandemic."

I know we're all focused on the Trump indictment - and rightly so! - but the SCOTUS decision on racial gerrymandering in Alabama is arguably at least as important for the future of democracy. Here's a nice commentary on the decision:

Looking forward to Monday’s Wall Street Journal editorial defending this lie by Trump (and all the others).
