KIMMEL: “That sonofabitch… I never imagined we’d have a president like this, and I hope we never have another president like this again… celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs - he took pleasure in that. The opposite of what a leader is supposed to be.”

The Pentagon Press Gears Up for a Fight

“None of us are signing this pledge,” said one reporter.

"Nothing will demonstrate more starkly Trump’s — Stephen Miller’s, really — promise of government [than seeing ICE continue to operate with funding while the rest of government shuts down]. Miller wants government to do nothing but kidnap brown people, even as working white people lose their safety net and pay higher prices."

Review of The Taiwan Tinderbox By J. Michael Cole

"[Cole] makes a strong case, both strategically and morally, for defending Taiwan as a matter of vital interest to a world we’d want to live in."

@RickiTarr The same test that naturalized citizens have to take. Seems fair and inclusive!

This might be elitist, but I'm beginning to think that we need more barriers of entry to be U.S. President. At least, you should be able to prove you have a basic understanding of how economies work. Anything more than just having the money and will. You need more qualifications to be a manager at TJ Maxx, than the President. I'm not talking about education here either, obviously if you have a Daddy with money, you can get an education, but can you pass an actual test. I'm just dreaming here, but tells me what you think the qualifications for being President should be.

Authorizing the military to kill civilians exercising their first amendment rights, seems like it should be a much bigger story.

"no more dudes in dresses," but clowns in makeup still OK 🤮

So Pete Hegseth says no more ‘overweight people’ in the military. Cool. Is Kristi Noem rolling out the same weight policy for ICE agents or does the rule stop where MAGA cosplay begins? I guess the shaving policy doesn’t matter when the only thing visible under the ski masks is their eyes.

"President Trump did not have many bad things to say about America’s foreign adversaries. He spoke about Vladimir Putin in largely neutral terms (only saying he was 'disappointed' in him) and barely mentioned China.

He did, however, speak with great moral clarity about certain classes of Americans whom he views as a grave threat:"
