(USA Today) It was the second day in a row the Maryland Democrat has been refused entry into the prison, even though at least two GOP House members were given a tour of the facility just two days earlier.

USA TODAY was following the senator's motorcade when it was stopped. The checkpoint appeared to be set up specifically to keep him from the prison.

If you *choose* to represent the people then you take the same risks as the people. You accept that you were granted power to act by voters on behalf of those voters.

There are dangers that come with that and the voters are subject to them as well.

Fight, take the punches and go another round - or step down and let someone willing to get a few scars in the ring.

This is why unqualified idiots are in cabinet positions. Because Senators - who have access to protection - are cowards.

People who have far less power, protection, and access than them stood up to far more. They couldn’t even do their jobs.
