Bought a pair of new folding chairs for the summer. Opened one up in the living room and it was immediately claimed by Shadow. He says it's just his size, so no one can sit there with him, and in another 30 minutes it will be so coated (pun intended) with cat hair, no one will want to sit there.

@RememberUsAlways So, wait, let me get this straight: the KKK can march and carry signs advocating white nationalism - a direct threat to the government of the nation guaranteeing their speech, but a student can't speak up in favor of Hamas? Guys with loaded rifles and swastikas on their plate carriers can "speak" in black neighborhoods while cops claim they can "do nothing," but a college kid can't say "Free Gaza"?

Dude. I'm Jewish. And a Veteran. And I can clearly see the error in this logic.

I'm really haunted by this bit, "Hospital staff are scrambling with damage control efforts — implementing emergency masking policies and giving babies as young as three days old injections of immunoglobulin..."

You're a hospital. in the middle (both geographically and timewise) of a Measles outbreak. During an ongoing (yet mostly ignored) pandemic of a disease that can permanently disable people who get it. Both are known airborne diseases. And you have to scramble to implement and "emergency masking policy"

WTF?!?

YIKES!

On Wednesday, a woman gave birth in a Lubbock, Texas, hospital in the middle of a deadly and fast-growing measles outbreak. Doctors didn’t realize until the young mother had been admitted and in labor that she was infected with the measles.

By that time, other new moms, newborn babies and their families at University Medical Center Children’s Hospital in Lubbock had unknowingly been exposed to the virus, considered one of the most contagious in the world.

Hospital staff are scrambling with damage control efforts — implementing emergency masking policies and giving babies as young as three days old injections of immunoglobulin, an antibody that helps their fragile immune system fight off infections. nbcnews.com/health/health-news

From the article: "Measles outbreaks in West Texas and New Mexico are now up to nearly 300 cases, and two unvaccinated people have died from measles-related causes.

"Measles is caused by a highly contagious virus that’s airborne and spreads easily when an infected person breathes, sneezes or coughs. It is preventable through vaccines, and has been considered eliminated from the U.S. since 2000.

"As of Friday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said its count of confirmed measles cases in the U.S. surpassed 2024. Here’s what else you need to know about measles in the U.S."

Donald Trump Claims MSNBC And ...

The next time I am called to jury duty I will flat out tell the attorneys there is no situation in which I will vote to convict. If the President is above the law, then everybody is.

I wish I lived in a country where Chuck Schumer and John Fetterman had at least half the balls of Nancy Pelosi or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Best thing about pi day? It's also the day I celebrate my remission from cancer. Twelve years ago today, I completed my final treatment.

Democrats appear on the cusp of voting to avoid a shutdown because they fear the consequences of standing up to the Trump administration could be worse.

@GottaLaff

Will someone kindly explain to me why this tower of Jello is still the Senate Democratic leader?

@SnowshadowII @GottaLaff

Absolutely! Trump is reportedly an admirer of William McKinley.
While in Congress future President . McKinley passed the McKinley Tariff, an attempt to force the annexation of Canada (it failed).

After he became president in 1896, McKinley was a proponent of expanding US territory & is responsible for adding Puerto Rico, the Philippines and Hawaii.

So yes, if I were in Canada I’d take trump’s threats VERY seriously.

Eric Trump owns a winery and vineyard in the US. Trump’s tariffs on European wine directly benefits his business.

Trump is literally monetizing his presidency and Republicans don’t care.
