Since the 1957 Civil Rights Act, the DOJ's Civil Rights Division has traditionally enforced federal laws protecting equal rights and defending the right to vote. Now, under Trump and AG Pam Bondi, it is being directed to undermine civil rights, and look for opportunities to go after companies who maintain DEI policies, and protect the rights of their employees. I wish I was kidding.

Which, of course, isn't a surprise, but the news from earlier just became very real for him. The kid just wants to learn about literacy rates and he can hardly do that. I had to tell him to be careful about anything he finds on a .gov site right now, it may not be true. How fucking crazy is that? Two weeks ago I wouldn't have said that.
