I cannot think of anything less valuable than a specific language. It's like celebrating religion; great, there's a 90 percent plus chance you're speaking the same language your parents spoke (or God they worshipped). You might as well celebrate being born straight. Or your local sports team. You didn't do anything.

A judge dealt former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows a blow on Monday, rejecting his request to move his criminal charges in Arizona to federal court.

U.S. District Judge John Tuchi wrote Monday that Meadows... failed to "demonstrate that the conduct charged in the state's prosecution relates to his former color of office as Chief of Staff to the President."

FYI to anyone stuck in a red state hell hospital with a life-threatening obstetric problem: you can demand transfer to another hospital, including one out of state. The hospital may or may not be able to honor that request for a variety of logistical reasons, but particularly if you are near a blue state line, they might. See, they can’t transfer you to the same level of care on their own, but they can at your request (IF an accepting hospital can be found).

Amber Thurman should be alive today. Denied timely care under Georgia’s restrictive abortion laws, she died from a treatable infection. Senator Tuberville (Ala.) has frozen the nomination of Lt. Gen. Ronald P. Clark to become the four-star commander of all U.S. Army forces in the Pacific, according to the senator’s spokeswoman, Mallory Jaspers.

The job for which General Clark has been nominated would place him at the forefront of the Pentagon’s efforts to contain China and defend Taiwan.
