Best “elect me because” flex?

For Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to call to your attention the Educator Assistance Act, a bill designed to soften the stranglehold of contracts that teachers are forced to sign when they gain employment in our public schools.

In very few industries are these types of employment contracts so one-sided. This bill gives teachers more flexibility to get out of these contracts without fear of losing their certification to teach.

It passed the SC House unanimously a year ago but is stuck in the SC Senate, not even having gotten out of committee. The last day of session is THIS THURSDAY. They need to act now before it's too late. It's the least our state can do for our wonderful educators.

@scattapilla okay I'll spell this out because maybe it's not obvious to some folks: when people say "zionist" a lot of other people hear "Jew" and that's a problem in a world where a lot of anti-Semitic fascists are in or aspiring to power.

So to Jews - especially Jews who are not zionists - that makes a huge difference in terms of how safe we feel.

Remember that Nazis have been using "zionists" as a dog-whistle for Jews since basically forever.
