A first-rate editorial from the Washington Post, urging Congress to ban AR-15 style rifles, bump stocks, and large magazines, all tools of mass shooters. Gift access at https://wapo.st/3MNVSkO. It follows from the Post’s excellent ongoing reporting about AR-15s, how they work and how the gun industry promotes them. #GunViolence

I'm over my self-pitying rant.
I will stop reading comments before I stop posting.
I think, though, that helping people understand the First Amendment issues at stake in the gag orders is less important than helping people understand that the real danger to democracy is misinformation and disinformation, and these things cannot be fixed through the legal system.
The problem is this: We are currently in an information disruption.
The way people are getting their information is creating misinformation-rage cycles.
It seems to me that these cycles will not end until we work our way out of this disruption.
The last major information disruption was the printing press and it caused havoc.
The firehose of rage is the result of two things: how people get their information and the complexity of our legal system.
I've been writing about this.
@AlliFlowers Don’t worry. Things will get better soon. It’s very early yet.
Twitter/X has been showing ads run by Apple, IBM, Oracle & Xfinity next to pro-Nazi content.
IBM has since pulled all its advertising after being asked to comment.
Apple as always is ignoring all of the outcry as there’s nothing more important than its highest moral imperative; sell more iPhones no matter whatever it takes.
By Thursday afternoon, 19 Democrats and nearly a dozen Republicans who previously voted "no" or "present" said in statements, posted to social media or told Axios they planned to vote to expel Rep. George Santos.

Apparently you need to make sure you denounce genocide as an idea daily if you’re a Jew now. Didn’t know that.
I also didn’t denounce juvenile diabetes or oral cancer, so let me be clear that I don’t approve there, either, since every time I speak, I need to be clear I don’t endorse every other thing I didn’t mention today.

She has valid arguments for #Palestinian freedom, but that gets drowned in the legal subterfuge she pulls.
The initial order warned: “In the following days, the #IDF will continue to operate significantly in #Gaza City and make extensive efforts to AVOID HARMING CIVILIANS. Evacuate south for your own safety and the safety of your families and DISTANCE yourself from #Hamas #terrorists who are using you as #humanShields"

Digital "Experts" GOP hired to find election fraud, say they weren't hired to find fraud, but to falsify evidence.
"Cybersecurity exec turns on Trump insiders who hired him to attack 2020 election results"
"XRVision was enlisted to analyze voting machine data obtained from a rural Pennsylvania county, according to the lawsuit. When the firm's employees refused to falsify evidence of fraud, the lawsuit claims, XRVision was defamed and stiffed out of $550,000."
Rabbi Rosenberg: "The police have tools to deal with nonviolent civil disobedience, & last night they chose not to use them. And I want to know why..
"DC police are well trained in working with protests. This happens every day of the week here."
"[But] instead of following their protocol, of working with our police liaisons, & safely removing protesters engaging their right to protest. Instead, they pepper sprayed & kicked & pushed & pulled people's hair, while we lit candles & prayed & sang."

Even if you don't have kids, consider supporting the up-coming Percy Jackson series on Disney+ because:
1-The author of the books is wonderfully inclusive (the books are great for kids)
2-The young actress selected for a main role has been slammed with racism--because the character in the book was white. (I'm glad to say that the author has been loudly defending her)
I hope the series succeeds on its merits, but I particularly hope it succeeds as a huge middle finger to the racist detractors.
