DoD confirms a US military plane went down in the eastern Mediterranean.

From the River to the Sea a Dog Whistle

An expression that for a foreigner may seem innocuous but for Israelies and Palestinians has a clear offensive meaning.

Palestine will be free, on its own is already a red flag. How much of Palestine? At what cost to Jewish independance in Israel? It’s hard to say just from listening to someone chant it. Is he a moderate or hard line Palestinian or Palestinian supporter? Does he mean freedom for Palestinians in their own state alongside Israel or in its place?

Once you add, From the River to the Sea, the meaning is much clearer. It means all the land between the Jordan River and the Medetaranian Sea. All of Israel, The West Bank and Gaza combined. No room for Jewish self-determination remains.

And what is to become of the millions of Jews now living in Israel? Perhaps there are academics that espouse a pipe dream of a liberal democratic state where Jews and Arabs live together in perfect harmony and that this will not result in a Muslim majority state that will oppress the minorities under its control. But for the ordinary Palestinians or their supporters it means, Jews go back to where you came from. Or, die you colonizing Jew.

I’m sure there are useful idiots in the west who simply chant the slogan without understanding what it means. But in adopting it as a slogan right after the world witnessed what Hamas, a major player in Palestinian politics did to the Jews they had under their control for one day, it is quite clear what the leaders of the chant intend this slogan to mean.

It is a chant that reflects an eliminationist Palestinian view that leaves no space for Jewish independence. A view that has led to numerous wars, a view that was supposedly abandoned during the Oslo peace accords. A view that has been championed by Hamas as they terrorized Israelis and Palestinians ever since the peace accords.
