I was assuming this #election would be disappointing since only old people typically vote on odd years.

Yusef Salaam, one of the members of the ‘Central Park 5,’ who later became known as the ‘Exonerated 5,’ has officially won the City Council District 9 seat in New York, NY. Salaam ran unopposed in the Harlem district after winning the Democratic primary election earlier this year in a landslide.

Dems are the ones who protect abortion rights, but Dem candidates greatly underperform standalone abortion rights referenda like Ohio's Issue 1.

This could be explained by voters' ranking other issues as more important to them than abortion. But I think it's mostly because voters haven't figured out that their futures are determined by the candidates they vote for. I hope they figure that out.

Abortion rights have been on the ballot in multiple states since Roe was overturned.

Each time, abortion rights have won, with Ohio set to enshrine abortion rights in their constitution tonight.

Kansas: 59-41
Vermont: 76-24
Montana: 52-47
Michigan: 56-43
Kentucky: 52-47
California: 67-33
Ohio: 55-45 likely

The majority of the US considers access to abortion a fundamental right.

Conservatives cling to this ‘silent majority” nonsense, and it’s just that. Nonsense.

Abortion is healthcare.

This appears to be an excellent night for US moderates -> progressives. Reactionaries and fascists can suck it. Again.
