23/ Backtracking for a sec, note from Klasfeld:

Clarification for readers on this point:

Yes, even before this week, Cohen's said that he entered into his 2018 guilty pleas under pressure from federal prosecutors, conceding to some crimes he claims he didn’t commit.

This marks the first time he said that on the witness stand

It has heavier implications when one says that under oath, especially when commenting on other testimony under oath.

After Hamas meeting with other #Iran proxy terrorists today, it's unfortunate that #Palestinians by the choice of their leaders, give justification to the label of terrorist.

Any assumption of innocence for #Palestine is now fully destroyed by association.

Free the #hostages of terror now.

A nasty verbal fight just broke out.

AAG Faherty keeps interrupting Habba's questions.

Kise calls her out.

Judge tells him to respect the AG's team.

Kise: Respect lawyers who want to sanction ME? Respect isn't given, it's earned. I've been practicing law for 30 years without sanctions... until the AG sought sanctions against me for making legal arguments in this case.

"I've argued four cases before the Supreme Court... they want me to be respectful to them?"

I just got a lovely call from the rabbi assigned to my mom’s new hospice team. The conversation turned to Israel, and once again I’m always impressed with how many Jews can deplore Hamas and want then erased, while still being passionately empathetic to the plight of the mostly innocent Palestinians. He’s been out raising money for victims on both sides. I’m an atheist, but have much respect for genuine humanitarians.

Trump’s attorney asks whether Cohen expected to get a position in the White House after Trump was elected president.

“Incorrect,” Cohen responds.

Trump’s attorney then pulls up text messages that appear to show Cohen hinting that he could be chief of staff.

At 3:30, a reporter asks Speaker-elect Mike Johnson, “you helped lead the efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. Do you—“

She was cut off as House Republicans booed and shouted, “Shut up! Shut up!”

The other reporters let their colleague get shouted down by these goons and then immediately asked if he’s confident he can get 217 votes on the floor.

Who cares about our democracy when there are important process questions to be asked?

House Democrats absolutely should not vote for anyone as Speaker who voted to overturn the results of the last Presidential election.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Talk about the banality of evil!

From @capitolhunters 🔥 Let's hope every GOP Representative in a competitive district realizes that Speaker candidate Mike Johnson was a litigator for the Christian advocacy group ADF that tried to overturn both the US election (with Johnson playing a key role) and Roe v Wade. 1/

Note from me: ADF is Flynn's baby and is the fastest growing scariest religious sect in the U.S. right now.....read @jennycohn ...she posts on it and writes about it in the Bucks County Beacon....very important work!

@CapitolHunters : The NYT explains how Johnson persuaded House Reps to vote to overturn the election on Jan 6. 3/4 of election deniers cited Johnson's arguments; he gave the "moderates" the excuse they needed to do something dirty. That's how fascism starts. No paywall 10/

Reporter just now on #NPR, about their crazy house speaker vacancy: "this mess makes them look incompetent."

Would argue that it "reveals" their incompetence would be more accurate. There's no illusion involved.

House Republicans nominate Tom Emmer and Mike Johnson in special Two for Tuesday House Speaker special.

#GeorgeTerwilliger, #MarkMeadows’ atty, commented to CBS News in response to the ABC News story, ‘Ex-Chief of Staff granted immunity’:

"I told ABC that their story was largely inaccurate. People will have to judge for themselves the decision to run it anyway." Terwilliger said.

However, @JoyceVance said, there are different types of immunity & some aren’t “offered” or “granted”

Basically, Terwilliger (as lawyers are wont to do) may be mincing words to give his client cover.
