The FCC was empowered by Congress to regulate our media expressly to build a pro-democratic public debate.

Chair Rosenworcel: do not shrink from your job. There must be SOME character standard to hold a TV license, to serve the public. Intentional news distortion violates that.

We all face a responsibility to call out Fox’s toxic lies, that harm our country and our democracy. Our democratically-elected government has a role to play too. Let’s act.

I’ve always had trouble with ear/sinus infections, but it feels like I’ve kept an ear infection and a bladder infection since I had Covid. I’ve had a theory for a while that the virus attacks us where we are most vulnerable for chronic illness, and exacerbates our weaknesses. When I first had Covid, I didn’t have a cough really or much temp (99. 9), but I DID have shortness of breath, an inner ear infection with vertigo and a bladder infection.

What is truly stupid about SELLING vaccines is that a major benefit of vaccination is to the OTHER people around you. It is a classic example of a PUBLIC good.

They should be free.
We can afford to do that.
We can afford to make most medical care free.

We're choosing not to, and for dumb, self-destructive reasons.

Thank you Morris Brown College for reinstating its mask mandate as #COVID rates rise. COVID isn't over and schools and workplaces need to stop being in denial and acting proactively to protect their staff and students. katv.com/news/nation-world/mas

"Lee wasn't just a pastor who happened to have a political affinity for Trump. He actively misused his authority as a minister to try to gain access to [Ruby] Freeman against her will -- and to dissuade police from intervening."

Lee drove to Georgia from Chicago and targeted election worker Ruby Lee, attempting to intimidate her, and is now facing charges for that reason.

Tom Horne says Arizona schools shouldn’t let trans kids use their preferred bathroom tucsonsentinel.com/local/repor
Arizona’s top education official is continuing to lash out at trans inclusive policies, issuing a statement advising public schools across the state to keep school facilities separated by biological sex, but conceding he has no power to determine how school districts serve their students.

Looks like the escape is going well. Mother (driven by brother) are almost at the AL state line. Once they cross the FL border they’ll be here in no time.

"There is nothing in journalistic standards that says you have to give a platform for someone to spread lies, even if they are a senator or representative (or even the [ex-]president)...

We do not need to reward bad behavior with airtime."

It's brave to say "I am not well " when you are not well and to keep going despite being unwell is strong.

2/ Cheney, cont'd:

Spec counsel says Trump team misleads when it suggests median duration of jury trial timing is 29.4 mos from charges to completion bc:

1) That figure includes post-trial time through sentencing
2) It was drawn from just 22 trials amid height of COVID backlog

Trump says he can't go to trial in timely fashion bc DOJ gave him his docs back.

Isn't that what he wanted, last year?
