I once was proud of my country
… I was a fool

I once thought we were improving
… I was wrong

I once had hope we’d live up to our words
… I was naive

I once thought living abroad was a luxury
… I now see it may be necessary

#SCOTUS #LGBTQ+ #TransRightsAreHumanRights

I'm going to stop serving Christians at my business because my religion doesn't tolerate bigots.

Basically, #SCOTUS has assumed the office of President, exerting the power to make any & all key decision as to how the nation operates. We're back where we were before the Revolution, controlled by an small unelected body: 4 rich white guys plus two token minorities, all corrupt

I ask every few years: Can anyone name a single policy that improved the lives of most Americans, that was initiated and championed mostly by conservatives?

(I honestly believe you have to be a moron to not understand what America conservatism is about, at this point. And we have a lot of morons.)

“I do not believe that infectious disease is an enormous threat to human health,” Kennedy added. The presidential hopeful stated that if he assumed office, he would target medical journals and redirect funding grants away from epidemiology.

It cannot be overstated how dangerous this guy would be to America, and the world if he was allowed to occupy the White House. He's a true monster.

I will NEVER do business with any company that discriminates against our LGBTQ brothers & sisters.

WHO'S WITH ME? ✋🏳️‍🌈

@otownKim
The timing is bad since Biden said yesterday that he's not for expanding the court..I hope this changes his mind.

Universities must end Legacy admissions NOW.

After all, that’s just affirmative action for rich white people.

Between 1900 and 1950 malaria killed ~100 million people globally. The CDC was founded in 1946 to combat malaria, and that's why it's based in Atlanta. By 1951, malaria was eliminated from the United States. We need that same ambition from our public health agencies today. cdc.gov/malaria/about/history/

@GottaLaff
It's only a matter of time before old signs reappear:

"No colored allowed"

"Gentlemen only; no women allowed"

"Non-whites need not apply"

These two cases have flung the door open wide for discrimination on any basis.

Affirmative Action is a way to try to right generational wrongs that have caused damage to entire portions of our population, damages that continue to reverberate today.

Given that the US continues to underfund public primary education in poor and underprivileged communities where generally minorities live in higher proportion, yes, this is breaking history and the future for many in this country.

@GottaLaff Indiana can go fuck itself. No abortions for residents of Indiana including (especially) the Christian three headed ones! Thanks SCROTUS now I can put signs in my store windows that that say “No Republicans, Christians, Gun Lovers or other filth served here”, “Pigs, Dogs, LGBT Persons & Decent Humans served gladly”. Christians Need Not Apply, Buddhists, Jews and Zoroastrians only! I want to speak consistent with my beliefs no matter how vile or repellent.

Roberts isn't even right on the facts: that "bankrupt borrowers may have their loans forgiven" just writes the 2005 bankruptcy bill out of the picture.
But these amateur lawmakers unfortunately have the gavel.

to recap: google is mad at people using youtube ad blockers because they don't want to give away their content for free, and mad at the canadian government for charging them to use news stories because they want to get their content for free.

NPR: Five local cases of malaria in the U.S. have been reported --mosquitoes carrying the malaria parasite bit and infected the individuals. How worried should we be? Is climate change a factor?#news #NPR npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/

@DEDGirl GOP knows this and complains for show, but they want poverty and no real education for everyone but white straight “Christian” men.

@psychictides @TonyStark

Y'know, I was prepping a long response to this... but nah. Your comment says everything it needs to about how likely you are to read it.

Voting isn't about what you think you can change in one session. It's about establishing a precedent of change you want to see in the future, about continuously pushing the status quo the direction you want it to go.

The right didn't get where they are just because they voted Trump. It was a parade of candidates leading up to him.
