Was Judge Cannon randomly assigned to the case??
Or did something else happen like someone concluded this CRIMINAL case is "related" to prior case - even though prior case was separate CIVIL matter?

Recall Judge Cannon wasn't simply biased toward Trump. Rather, she absolutely mangled the law to get the result most favorable to him, & had to be reversed in humiliating fashion twice. There hasn't been a parallel to her combined incompetence & favoritism in the whole Trump era.

I respect the hell out of Joyce Vance (and Judge Vance!), but I'm not reassured just yet.
There was also compelling (and binding) authority preventing Cannon from reaching the rulings that she did in the warrant proceeding. And yet, she did what she did.
Should she recuse herself? I think it would be a reasonable thing to do. But right now the call is more or less hers to make. ...
