It's been a year since Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas turned into another tragedy in America.

A year of missed birthdays.
A year of every day joys – his smile, her laugh – gone.

Today, we mourn the 19 children and two educators stolen from us by gun violence.

In memory of , can the GOP primaries be held in
? The results won’t be any different, but it will be vastly more entertaining.

everyone is entitled to my own opinion

Kevin McCarthy is a fucking liar, and our shithole media keeps letting him get away with it
once again. the yammering dipshits on cable news refuse to take even 30 seconds to explain what’s really going on

“If you had a child, you gave them a credit card, and they kept hitting the limit, you wouldn’t just keep increasing it.”

no, Kevin McCarthy, you spineless lying fuck, your manufactured debt crisis is not like giving a credit card to a child.

it’s like giving a tax cut to the obscenely wealthy and then making the needy suffer more in order to pay for that tax cut.

that’s exactly what it’s fucking like, because that’s exactly what it is.

fuck you, Kevin McCarthy, for lying your feckless face off, and fuck our worthless corporate media even harder for allowing Kev and all his shithole Republican confederates to lie and lie again, when exposing that lie would take all of five seconds.

Today’s news:
1) Tina Turner has died.
2) Elon Musk has fucked up.
3) Florida man possibly announced run for presidency.

5/ So a lot of reporting mocking #DeSantis for dwelling on the pandemic in his Big Pres. Pitch... not a great topic to focus on if you want to attract voters, genius.

And this via Judd Legum:

DeSantis suggests Black Floridians who were appointed for high-ranking positions under previous Governors were unqualified and there because of quotas

@w7voa Well stop firing teachers and let them say gay then, DeFascist.

3/ And this gem from Mehdi Hasan:

Congratulations to #DeSantis's crack comms team, @BryanDGriffin, @ChristinaPushaw, and @JeremyRedfernFL, for organizing a totally effective and non-humiliating campaign launch for their boss with tech genius @elonmusk. Bravo!

Remember, their pitch is 'Trump but competent.' Lol.

Appears thousands are dropping from the Musk/DeSantis Twitter space launch of DeSantis 2024…because the technology is not working (because Musk fired everyone) and the format is horrible and nobody uses Twitter spaces…who could have seen this coming except literally everyone.

This is the most fun I’ve had on Twitter in months. Thanks @elonmusk.

Investigators detail years of alleged misconduct by Texas AG Ken Paxton in stunning House committee hearing, which capped a whirlwind 24 hours at the Capitol during which Paxton unexpectedly called on Speaker Phelan to resign, alleging the Republican recently presided over the chamber while drunk. Hours later, the investigative committee revealed it was looking into Paxton, and Phelan dismissed the AG's request that he step down as a “last ditch effort to save face.”

Oh man, that was almost worth signing in to Twitter for - the DeSantis campaign launch was a complete disaster, Spaces crashed like one Elon’s rockets and all you could hear was Musk muttering about it not working and I was laughing so fucking hard.

Another face plant worthy of a billionaire.

"In addition to being a once-in-a-generation talent that changed American music forever, Tina’s personal strength was remarkable," says President Biden in a statement on the death of #TinaTurner.

When a young Southern Baptist pastor named Alan Cross arrived in Montgomery, Ala., in January 2000, he knew it was where the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. had his first church and where Rosa Parks helped launched the famous bus boycott, but he didn't know some other details of the city's role in civil rights history.

The more he learned, the more troubled he became by one event in particular: the savage attack in May 1961 on a busload of Black and white Freedom Riders who had traveled defiantly together to Montgomery in a challenge to segregation. Over the next 15 years, Cross, who is white, would regularly take people to the old Greyhound depot in Montgomery to highlight what happened that spring day.

"They pull in right here, on the side," Cross said, standing in front of the...
