Reflecting on that election, I remember having to write an at-home essay about the election. (I was in Honors English.) I had wanted Kennedy to win, but I knew my teacher was rooting for Nixon. I wasn't all that politically wrapped around the axle in 1960, so I blamed Nixon's loss on his nerves, "wipe out the farmers...uh...farm surplus" and the sweat glistening on his upper lip, versus Kennedy's polished, smooth delivery. I don't think it's sufficiently sunk in for people that the entire "controversy" over Bud Light's partnership with Dylan Mulvaney was that she exists and the right doesn't want trans people to exist.

She didn't do anything. They sent bomb threats to beer bottling plants and cowed a brand into submission over a popular trans woman merely existing.

The right is saying they get decided who is allowed to live their lives in peace and who isn't, and they'll enforce it with threats and violence.

One of the most dangerous things about #Trump is how his crew of grotesque, self-defiling asslickers always ends up trashing American institutions - like the right to a jury trial - while they're falling all over themselves to defend him. It's always "Trump First," America last.

So glad to see he’s doing better and is open and honest about his struggle with depression. This may save someone’s life. If you’ve never had depression, it’s hard to understand.

People who are dealing with this deserve support. And we should have a healthcare system that takes care of it for everyone.

@StillIRise1963 Someone who talks about how they can't bring themselves to vote for Democrats because they are "the lesser of two evils & that's still evil!!!" are usually white/white-adjacent men who know that they will be just fine in a GOP dominated world because their whiteness & maleness means they can "pass" as one of the evil guys, i.e., they won't be targeted as the enemy. They are just assumed to be "one of the guys." They can play chicken with other people's lives.

@AlliFlowers It might seem that way from an outside perspective but not to me. I think Welsh is perceived as having a lot of consonants because W and Y are vowels in Welsh.
