No shock here: The Guardian notes several phrases in the U.S. peace proposal to Ukraine appear to be directly translated from Russian.

One standout is the line “It is expected that Russia will not invade neighboring countries,” a clunky English phrasing mirroring the Russian “ожидается.”

Other clear Russianisms include “ambiguities” for “неоднозначности” and “to enshrine” for “закрепить.”

Backstory: there is a bizarro evangelical belief - which is endemic in a lot of the GOP - that if we get all the Jews into Israel it will accelerate their rapture. But that also requires a deeply antisemitic proposition: namely, getting Jews out of the US.

Community defense training sessions will be happening all over #NYC soon.

No doubt everyone involved is thrilled to have a mayor who doesn't kowtow to Nazis. No matter what anyone thinks of Mamdani's policies, he was the only viable candidate not in hock to Trump and the Nazi billionaires.

Tom Homan knows it too. Witness the hideous, undead face of desperation:

Former Finnish PM Sanna Marin put it bluntly: “To end the conflict, Russia must leave Ukrainian territory.”

Just one point. Nothing more to discuss.

Highly recommend reading this, by Philip Bump, on Trump’s call for execution of Democratic Senators and Representatives for simply stating the legal obligations of armed services members. pbump.net/o/so-were-just-movin

Drug boats from Venezuela are mainly moving cocaine to Europe — not fentanyl to the U.S., experts say

> ...drug cartels operating vessels in the Caribbean, where roughly 50% of the airstrikes have taken place, are mainly moving cocaine from South America to Europe — not to the United States, according to current and former U.S. law enforcement and military officials as well as narcotics experts. And the deadliest drug of all, fentanyl, is almost exclusively smuggled over land from Mexico, the officials and experts say.

The American people have spoken. 56% think billionaires spending money on elections is a bad thing, while only 12% think it is a good thing. The rich need to pay their taxes like everyone else. And we need unions for all so workers can take away their power. #1u

LOL, Stephen Miller.

It might be insurrection if members of Congress were telling members of the military to OBEY illegal orders. Ironically, that's what you're doing.

Service members are already obligated to DISOBEY illegal orders.

Women couldn’t vote until 1920. Single women were legally barred from obtaining a mortgage or having a credit card without a male cosigner until 1974.
Just because something happened “back in the day,” doesn’t make it right or that we want it now.
