Jimmy Fallon says he will avoid politics on The Tonight Show.

Let’s be clear: Cowardice isn’t funny. Silence in the face of Trump’s authoritarianism isn’t neutrality — it’s complicity. Urge Fallon and his producers not to be entertainers who keep their heads down: act.indivisible.org/sign/cowar

We don’t need more celebrities pretending that Trump and MAGA aren’t tearing away freedoms and weaponizing government.

Did Harvard award Trump donor, Bill Ackman, with Harvard's $50 billion dollar Endowment Fund?

Or did admissions let in Barron, Trump's son, after he failed his SAT's?

Billionaires want control of admissions, hire, fire, and research funding plus control of the Endowment Fund.

The most on-brand Kash Patel thing I can think of (ignorant of his host country's laws, thoughtless about the consequences of his actions, 3D-printed guns are great!) is giving foregn officials illegal weapons.

@samlitzinger Am I the only one to notice this VERY unique framing by AP (NY Times did the same)?

When the SCOTUS gave Trump *many* temporary wins, the headlines didn’t say “FOR NOW” - they acted like it was a done deal.

The Media is just so terrible at this… You can see the bias a mile away.

@dougiec3 In other words, follow down that path and Ukraine could take over the US? Let's do it!

@thetnholler.bsky.social If it was really for the generals, it would NOT have been televised.

This was a show for Fox News, so the president could watch himself being “tough” on TV that night. It really is just that pathetic.

"We can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them and irreversible by them, like cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs that they like."

Donald John Trump, President of the United States of America

Just got an email from the VA blaming the shutdown on the Dems "unrelated demands". I hate these fuckers.

Federal Senior Judge U.S. District Judge Bill Young lambastes Trump administration.

"To us, masks are associated with cowardly desperados and the despised Ku Klux Klan. In all our history we have never tolerated an armed masked secret police. Carrying on in this fashion, ICE brings indelible obloquy to this administration and everyone who works in it."

KIMMEL: “That sonofabitch… I never imagined we’d have a president like this, and I hope we never have another president like this again… celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs - he took pleasure in that. The opposite of what a leader is supposed to be.”

"Nothing will demonstrate more starkly Trump’s — Stephen Miller’s, really — promise of government [than seeing ICE continue to operate with funding while the rest of government shuts down]. Miller wants government to do nothing but kidnap brown people, even as working white people lose their safety net and pay higher prices."

Review of The Taiwan Tinderbox By J. Michael Cole

"[Cole] makes a strong case, both strategically and morally, for defending Taiwan as a matter of vital interest to a world we’d want to live in."

This might be elitist, but I'm beginning to think that we need more barriers of entry to be U.S. President. At least, you should be able to prove you have a basic understanding of how economies work. Anything more than just having the money and will. You need more qualifications to be a manager at TJ Maxx, than the President. I'm not talking about education here either, obviously if you have a Daddy with money, you can get an education, but can you pass an actual test. I'm just dreaming here, but tells me what you think the qualifications for being President should be.

Authorizing the military to kill civilians exercising their first amendment rights, seems like it should be a much bigger story.
