A 70 year old Jewish woman was stabbed at a Kosher grocery store in Ontario by a 71 year old gentile man in what prosecutors are classifying as a hate crime. This event is getting attention in Canada, coverage by the CBC, a statement by the Prime Minister, etc.

This is typical of how antisemitism is handled in Canada. Comedian Modi says that antisemitism is "Hating Jews more than you're allowed." and that holds very true in Canada, where physical violence gets a lot of attention, but non-physical violence such as hate speech/vandalism/intimidation and discrimination go unaddressed.

Politicians here treat antisemitic incidents like American politicians treat gun violence, with "no idea where it comes from" and remedies that include "hopes and prayers".

It's time for a change, and for Canadians to address non-physical violence like they go physical violence.
