Prior to getting my Masters and PhD in Nuclear Engineering at Berkeley I was a nuclear trained officer on a submarine. After graduating I worked in reactor core design at a nuclear company. I now work as a nuclear physicist at a national lab.

I just wanted to establish my bona fides before assuring you that yes, your assumption is correct that bombing any kind of nuclear infrastructure is dangerous and reckless as fuck.

Today in particular I’m just so glad Merrick Garland prioritized “norms” over the U.S. constitution, our republic, and any hope of saving our democracy. Otherwise we might have run the risk of a functioning government.

I hope Garland knows that—along with Mitch—cowardice will always be his legacy.

What was that Trump was saying about how he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize?

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.

Without Congressional action, the man who imagines the world revolves around him has now brought the United States into war with Iran.

And all that notwithstanding

•Trump had no approval from Congress

And Trump ignored all that and bombed a sovereign nation of 92 million people. If we had a Congress with a spine he would be impeached immediately for this atrocity.

I’m not saying we have the votes to impeach. I’m saying that you DO NOT do this without Congressional approval and if Johnson doesn’t grow a spine and learn to be a real boy tomorrow we have a BFing problem that puts our very Republic at risk.
