Here's what's going to happen.

Places are going to federate with Facebook, it's going to go terribly because it's Facebook, and the same white guys that are advocating for it are going to come up with some longwinded apology about how they were wrong and their bullshit put thousands of people in danger and fucked up many a decent instance.

They will be praised as LEADERS while I sit over here being harassed by people who say blocking a notorious bad actor on the web is destroying the fedi, struggling for funding to complete projects that actually center the needs of human beings rather than algorithms that productive our attention.

Because that's how racism works.
